I'm an 18-yr old female looking to start a good job to begin saving for college next fall. I had an interview today at Pizza Hut and I applied for team member, but since I am 18, the lady told me that I qualify for shift manager position. So, she had me reapply, and she said that she would "lock me into the system" and speak to another manager at a different store that is hiring shift managers because they need several.

I reapplied and called her back and she said they would talk and go over my background info and call back in a few days. What happens now? Am I hired?

Also, any one who has worked as a shift manager, what is required of them. I heard that some people have to work many months before being promoted to shift manager. So, how is it that I am starting as a shift manager? What will training be like?

Open Question: What ever happened to the Farmhouse Restaurant in Redwood City California? It had the best minestrone soup!?
I used to eat there all the time with my family when I was young. They served their minestrone soup in black cauldrons that they brought to the table and the floor had sawdust all over it and the tablecloths were red and white checkered. That has always been my favorite restaurant and I was wondering if it moved or still exists somewhere besides in my memories!!

My fiance and I live in Minnesota and are planning a very small wedding in Winnipeg (15-20 people tops). I want to do a low key reception at a restaurant but as I don't live there I'm having the hardest time searching. It would be great if it was affordable (about $10-15 per person). The part I would like the most (and am having the hardest time with searching) is to find one that would have a party room, or a small more private area. In terms of types of food served, I'm really open, but would appreciate it if they made some adult drinks. I would love recommendations from people who live in or around Winnipeg that I can check out when we go to visit. Even if its just your favorite sit down restaurant in Winnipeg! Anything is better then the no information I currently have. Thanks!

Today myself and partner went to a pub for our breakfast. We had previously had concerns about the quality of the bacon as it always appeared gray/blue however we wanted to eat out and were on a low budget so we took our chances.

Myself and partner ordered a large breakfast each. the bacon looked normal on this occassion - however whilst eating it I had to take it out of my mouth as a piece appeared non chewable and on inspection we guessed it was bone. My partner was disgusted and took it straight to the manager and asked to file a complaint. We did not touch any meat on our plate after that.

The manager did not ask if we wished for a meal to be replaced but just issued us with a form for effis...or however you spell the companies name.

My boyfriend checked the menu and there was clearly no warning about bones.

We completed the form and gave it to the manager. The manager could clearly see we were not happy and could see we were put off both our breakfasts. Despite this he did not offer us a refund. Half way to the car I decided it was completely unacceptable to have not even offered our money back so I went back in. I asked him for a refund. Assuming he would refund both meals imagine my shock when he refunded me for just 1 breakfast. I left in complete shock and disgust.

Are there any other further actions we can take? I know for a fact we will be checking that our bone was sent off with the whole batch of bacon which the form clearly stated was a regulation.
