so its new years eve tomorrow (yay!) and i wanna go out with my family for a nice dinner together. We are 5 people, and we would prefer some place with pretty reasonable prices and good food that should be halal, indian, and/or chinese or something of the sort. we wanna try something new since we always end up going to Mandarin (and plus its really expensive, especially for tomorrow). i also want a place with nice decor or something so we could dress up a bit

Got into a debate with some of my friends last night at a restaurant. I'm broke, I don't have a job but I make a income by doing odd jobs I'm currently in school so I really don't have time for a job. Last night I was paying for one of my other friends who just got laid off so he didn't have any money either. My other friends have a pretty decent income. Our waitress was pretty far from stellar, she came by 3 or 4 times and they were not busy. Never the less my two friends gave me crap for not wanting to tip her, and I literally didn't have the money to. I told them if they want to tip her so bad they could. They did, for what ever reason. Then on the rid home (which I was driving them and they didn't pay me back for gas money) they wouldn't shut the hell up about it. I told them it's not the first time that's happen to me, and I didn't tip. They had a ##### fit about it. They told me that I shouldn't go to a restaurant unless I have the money to tip, and the waiters and waitresses don't understand when people don't tip. To be honest I really don't give a damn, tips are not automatically earned. Anybody with half a brain would know that.
So what do think?

The places that we have been to the food is of very low quality, small portions and very expensive. So we usually end up eatting at chain restaurants. The best restaurant I ever been to in Canada is a place called Frankie Tomattos a Italian themed buffet in Markham, Ont. Soft drinks are cold out of the machine so why get ice? It just waters it down and takes up space in the cup so you are getting less drink for your money.
