Open Question: What was the big deal with Taco Bell and their 'man made' beef?
I was just wondering what was the big deal with that.

Open Question: how much does it cost to open a already furnished restaurant?
The place we want to rent already has all the tables chairs and dishes, pots and pans fry vat and cooking area as well as prep tables etc. So I even got the renter to come down on the price of the rent. But we don't have much money to work with. I have $4000 from my taxes. So I know I need to pay the rent which is $1500 and I know we need electric and phone. I also know we need food and to go containers ( even though its an eat in there are a lot who will just run in for lunch.) Its in a great place near the gov center and jail. So do you think Im crazy could I possibly do it on $4000? I think Im going to have to make about $200 a day just to break even. That's not including other employees. So far just my husband ( cook) my daughter waitress and me. I know waitresses make like $2.13 an hour plus tips. Restaurant seats about 35 people. I know we would be working basically seven days a week until we get on our feet and can hire more people. Its mostly sandwiches/appetizers and things we can prep ahead of time such as chili and meatloaf. We are trying to go with a quick menu. I have a basic business plan but Im trying to figure out the cost of things. I know once I do I can take it to SCORE. Please help

Open Question: What is the point of an appetizer in a restaurant?
I went out today and I ordered an appetizer. And so I began to think what is the point of an appetizer. Is it something that is supposed to keep you satisfied while your main course comes out? Or is it to enjoy slowly and keep a conversation going kinda like a social thing?

Open Question: Fine dining in downtown San Diego...?
My fiance and I are celebrating our fifth anniversary next month (and it lands on a Saturday so it's PERFECT for going out) and we want to do something fun and special since 5 years is one of the big ones and it's the last dating anniversary we're really going to celebrate since we're going to have a "new" anniversary. So, does anyone know a great place to get seafood and/or steak in downtown San Diego (around the Gaslamp district but going as far north as La Jolla)? We live in North County San Diego and tend to stick more toward our area so we don't know as much about downtown. I would love to know the names of places, quality of food, formality, food price, what food they serve, etc. Also, if you have any other ideas for what to do for our special day, I would love to hear it. So far, I've been thinking snorkeling with leopard sharks, whale watching, a nice dinner, and a hotel somewhere around the area. Thanks so much for the help!

Open Question: Food Poisoning from KFC!?
Hi.
I've just gone through the most horrible 48 hours of my life. 2 days ago, I ate a toasted twister sandwich and fries from KFC at the mall.

I felt fine whilst I was shopping, and then on the way home I started feeling very sick. I started having sharp, jabbing pains in my stomach, and about an hour after I was home, the pain was so bad that I literally couldn't stop throwing up. I couldn't leave my washroom because of 1) the vomiting, and 2) the diarrhea. It was absolutely horrible. I know the food from KFC caused this because it was the only thing I had eaten all day. I literally vomitted like 14 times before my mum took me to the hospital-and while I was there I vommited twice. The doctors did blood tests and determined that it was in fact food poisoning.
I was put on an IV for over 7 hours with 3 different kinds of medication/rehydrating liquids because I couldnt keep anything down.

Has anyone else experienced food poisoning from KFC? Should I take legal action? I missed both school AND work because of this, not to mention felt like I wanted to die because the pain was so bad! Any help and advice would help. Thanks!
This was in Toronto, Canada.
Dufferin Mall food court, Toronto.
PS: I DO have a receipt to prove that I ate there. This was the ONLY thing I ate all day so I'm not sure how I would prove that..but the receipt proves I ate there and exactly at what time.

Open Question: What resturant near chicago IN makes a beef wellington?

Open Question: What is a good, authentic Chinese restaurant in the Pomona, Ca area/surrounding area?

Open Question: does anybody remember the kid themed restaurant in the chicago suburbs in the 80's?
It wasn't showbiz pizza or chuck e cheese. It was some kind of a stage show and it had a girls name in the title, like Annie's something or other. I think it was either a puppet show or live stage show for kids.

Open Question: restaurant reservations?
if i make a reservation at a restaurant for say, 15 people, and 1 or 2 dont show up, do restaurants usually charge extra for only 1 or 2 ppl missing?

Open Question: What was burning at the restaurant I was at?
Ok, so I was at a Chinese restaurant and they began burning something that looked like incense in a candle holder. But the people at the table were putting their food on it to heat it up. Anyways the smoke emitted a distinct scent, that smelled a little bit like marijuana. The scent/smoke dried up my nose and throat, and caused my father to get really light headed, with fuzzy vision..to the point where he almost passed out. So my question is what was burning? I'm really just curious to know, like I said it was at a Chinese restauarant so it may be a traditional Chinese thing, but I don't know.

Resolved Question: Has anyone tried KFC's "crispy French fries" in their Canadian outlets?
They don't serve French fries in the U.S., but in their Canadian outlets they have them, and the "crispy fries" they have are simply orgasmic. Couple them with KFC gravy and you have an orgasm in your mouth.

Anyone tried these?

Resolved Question: A good name for a menu item?

Open Question: I ordered something from a fast food place and forgot my money and I came back, should i be worried?
I ordered something from a fast food place and I honestly thought I brought money with me but when I checked my pockets to pay it was empty. So they probably ended up throwing what I ordered. So I came back an hour later to order the same thing and they remembered me. They were not really angry or anything but I kind of fear that they might have contaminated the food or something in the kitchen. I did not act rude or anything like that. Am I just overreacting?

Open Question: i need someone who knows their wine !?
I have two questions: 1. I'm looking for a good red wine to give a a gift. I'm looking to spend about 50 dollars. This is a thank you to someone that I know has lots of wine and cheese parties, so I need a GOOD wine, I don't mind spending money as long as I know it will taste good.

2. I had this one amazing bottle a year and a half ago but unfortunately I don't remember the name. It was a California Red but it tasted just like cherries. I think it was 2006 or 2007 and now it retails for about 90+ dollars, when it was first released it retailed for about 30. Does anyone have any suggestions of wine that would fit this description ? Thank you so much
