I applied for a job at McDonald's and got through to the interview stage. Today I received an email saying congratulations I made it past the interview/OJE stage and have to go for a welcome meeting next week. Does this mean I definitely have the job? What do I wear to the welcome meeting? What's it for ie. what do we do there? If I have got the job is that where I will sign the paper work which confirms it?

Hello. Well I live in a small town and there is a bar/restaurant that always closes after the dinner crowd goes home. This happens even on Friday nights. The only way they keep it open is if they have close to a full bar. Once upon a time this bar was ran by a different manager and they always kept the bar open till 2 am every night of the week. This led to them having a late night crowd. The way they run the place now they drove away the late night customer base, even though they still have the 2 am liquor license. Can anyone please explain to me possible reasons why the new management always closes this place early on a regular basis? They never have drink specials either, which is strange. Considering there is alot of money to be made in liquor sales.

Open Question: TIpping for take-out?
I'm wondering if I'm just the cheapest person out there. On Friday's I'm busy so I usually pick up a pizza, or sometimes an order of sesame tofu from the Chinese restaurant. I walk in, place my order. I pay, they inform me it will be 15 minutes, so I go run another errand at a nearby store to be efficient with my time, then I come back and pick my pizza or tofu up and take it home.
I do not add a tip, because I always thought you paid for your food (which, of course I do) and the TIP was for the waiter bringing you drink refills, checking to see if you need anything, etc, when you sit down at a restaurant. I assumed the line on the receipt for a tip is for the customers at those restaurants who do sit down and eat and are waited on.
Am I wrong? What's your opinion? I'd especially be interested in the opinions of people who work in the restaurant business.
