Hi! I'm a California native and I moved to NYC 3 years ago and every once in a while I comfort a bad day with a good airy light fluffy donut and a cup of coffee...well since my move to NYC I have not been able to find a decent donut place. I'm shocked! The first time I tried a donut here was at Dunkin' Donuts and my God was it awful! I have tried other random small places that claim they have donuts but they're never made on premises and taste like crap. In California we have tons of random little donut shops that make their own donuts and my god they are sooo good! I'm looking for a place like that! The only chain donut store I like is YUM YUM donuts so if anyone knows of one or something that tastes like that in NY....help me out! My fav is crumb donut and the twisty sugar donut PS- I live in Brooklyn!

Resolved Question: Sonic Drive In is awful!?
I have been a carhop there for about a month now. I'm 17, and in 12th grade. The people who work there are PERVS. Even the manager flirts with the younger carhops and they all talk about their sex lives and make racist comments even when the drive through window is open. The workers are rude to the managers and other employees and I have experienced some sexual harrasment from a cook.

I want to quit, but I don't know how. And I also NEED a job right now and Sonic has been the only place I was able to find one. I hate this job, it is so stressful. I have to take orders, sometimes make drinks and ice cream, bag food, and SKATE ORDERS OUT non stop, big heavy trays, and am expected not to fall. It is so so hard, I probably would stay if there was no skating, but I really cant multi task and run around on skates like this. I'm not an expert skater, but I'm not bad. Its just tough to skate around uneven tiles and pavement and skate off curbs fast and not hit peoples cars, or, BE HIT BY A CAR! seriously, its almost happened to me before. Sonic only has like 6 carhops because not many people can handle skating constantly. I hardly know what to do, I barely had any training and have short hours that are still always being cut because its winter so I really dont have the training other employees got. The other workers make fun of me because I mess up a lot, but i was NEVER trained. I'm working very hard, yet still employees give me crap because I'm not perfect. (I've worked like 9 days in one month. thats it.)

So I put gave ihop all my information and signed up online for everything, because on their homepage it mentioned that they have a free meal on your birthday if you sign up. It said to enter my location and select the closest ihop near me which I did. I believe this was to verify whether or not that specific location offers the deal. I printed out the coupon and everything and called two ihop locations and they both said "No" right away. Anyway, do you think that it is because they are just either naive phone receptionists, or that they legitimately don't offer the deal. Do you think I should go into the store with my coupon anyway and get my free meal? Because if not that is false advertisement, my coupon says that location offers the deal..

Whenever I pay for food in a restaurant or at a bar, I have a tendency to round up and not ask for change. For example, last week the bill for my dinner including tax came to $23.25. A tip at 20% of the total would bring the grand total to about $28. So I gave the bartender a twenty and a ten and said to keep the change. I figured it's only two bucks and it would be viewed as a nice gesture.

Anyone else out there have a tendency to do this?
Sorry, I should also have mentioned I only had tens and twenties in my wallet that night.
