I'm back in Colorado right now too, so I know what you mean. I still have a mailing address in Las Vegas and use an LA proxy whenever I log into Amazon. I'm afraid I'll forget the proxy one time and get the Amazon "you're fired" email.

You can use anything you want. Amazon is just easy for obvious reason. Try something like ebay...If they have banners?

Or even better, for the first month or so after actually promoting the site you may want to take all ads off, even the Adsense.

Just open the html files used for SSI and delete their contents and reupload, you don't even need the "main" graphic. Once you start getting some links and/or traffic, add the Adsense and banners then.
