That's why I encourage people to take a few minutes to setup the blog properly, where it is actually a benefit to the community. Dress it up, make it look like some is living on the property.

So do I, remember, a while back I tried this, but no one really wanted to join or create a network.

I agree. I may go back to the santa cruz site, and put up posting to revelent to that area, and then use blog roll or sig links to point back.

Not sure if I understand the question.
However, you can make your own blog roll the URL does not have to match the anchor text.

And with widgets, you can forgo the blog roll all together, and add raw html.

I would love to see 5 or 10 of us make even a single blog all related, and publish posts to it.

Meaning if 10 of us created individual dog training blogs, each participate got a editor level and. You could post, automatic blog content to all 10, then you have 10 different properties to post your link in.

If as a group we all decided that we could come up with say 5 niches to start with, and build 5 blog each, one dedicated to each niche. Then we have our own small network. of 50 blogs. Most certainly on different IPs. ANd we can do this without install WPMU.

We could enable posting via remote, and or publishing via secret email.
