Here's a resource I have been using, in which I haven't seen much duplicated content, and updates regularly.

ARA Content provides free, high quality feature articles to reporters, editors and print publishers. These features are copyright free and in a variety of categories coordinated to fit the editorial calendars of a typical newspaper.

They have free registration, and even provide images to go along with the articles.

I haven't seen much of the content used in marketing circles, I have seen some of the articles used on media sites like tv station websites, so I think this would be good for our niche sites.

Content Infusion is a site that uses javascript and other formats to put ARA content on your site. EZArticles is a php script that uses content from content infusion to update your site. So all the resources go hand in hand.

The content is high quality and like I said I haven't seen it duplicated much except in media circles.
