This was based on experiences from many years ago...Affiliate programs like CJ and a pay per action or two...

This is why I love PPC. I've made way more from PPC than all other affiliate type programs combined. But I'm sure this differs from niche to niche. And, PPC is so much easier.

Having said this, I've "burried the hatchet" and got a new Click Bank account and may give them another try.
