Ron,

MoreOver is so-so. They only display the links, without any descriptions.

But the Gnews2RSS/VoidStar.com script is really cool!

The first version didn't work on my server, but I did get the cURL version (whatever curl is) to work.

I strongly suggest BlogBombers get this installed and working on one of their domains. I'd take the programmer at his word that he may not offer the service for long.

One word of caution: Anytime you querry Google, you could be at risk of having your IP address banned by them. I suggest that you change the cache in BlogBomb data/config.pl to only querry Google every 3-10 days or so. We're only looking for words, not up-to-the-minute news, as there's plenty of sites that do this better.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, but I wouldn't have 100's of feeds, all on the same IP, updating every day.

Remember, if you have 10 feeds, that's 150 "headlines", and if you use the "random" function of BlogBomb, you have a ton of unique combos. And 10 feeds updated every 10 days in only one per day, average. I doubt that will get you into any trouble with Google, but just be aware of the risk.

Also, the script has a parameter where you can set the number of search results. I suggest pumping this up as high as you can. If you need to querry Google, you may as well get as much content as you can with each querry. Although I have tested it a little to show 100 results, but the script seems to limit to 15...This could be on Google's end and not the script itself. And, I haven't tested it for very long.

All in all, this is a terrific addition from Ron, although it has probably put a "damper" on Jason D's Google News project.
