#0, I'll Be On The Road
Posted by Kurt on Jul-20-08 at 06:20 AM
Starting Sun. July 27th, I'll be taking a two week road trip.

I'll be visiting Yellowstone, Lake Tahoe, Los Angeles, San Diego and Las Vegas before heading home.

The first few days I may not able to connect (Yellowstone), so please bear with me. Later in the trip, I'll be able to get online, but will be a little slower to respond than normal.

This is the first real vacation of my life, and I'm looking forward to it. And after living in Las Vegas on and off for the past 20 years, it's the first time I'll stay in a hotel on the Strip...I'll even try the "$20 Trick" for myself for the first time.

For those that don't know, The $20 trick is something I passed on to Bombers when we used to meet in LV. I wrote a report about it 10 years ago and it was the first thing I sold online.

(Basically, you check into a moderately priced hotel on The Strip and give the desk clerk a "$20 bribe" to upgrade your room. It actually works very well, and often you'll get a room with a hot tub or an upgrade to a suite, saving $100's if you booked the upgrade through the hotel.)

Again, plan on me being out of touch for a few days...And I'd really appreciate it if some of you older Bombers could check in a little more often to help out the newer members.

Hi Kurt

I hope you have a really great holiday. If I were you and had never had a proper holiday before, I wouldn't be too worried about being out of touch for a day or two. I'm sure we'll manage somehow

I hope you get the chance to relax and enjoy your break.

Kind regards

Ian

Vacations are great. I love them. Haven't taken many in the last several years but when things are right I like to take one every three or four months.

Have a good time Kurt.

I leave here on the 31st of July, headed for my VN reunion (The We Were Soldiers" guys. I'll return home on 4 August. 4 days up there is just about all I can take. But it'll be good to share C's with my buds again (yep we gottem! No MREs for us.

Now, if I can just get through ICE! That's always such a pain because they don't like Americans living outside their thumb and give you all sorts of S**T for it. They also love to imtimidate, which doesn't work on this end.

I already got two ICE agents fired for conducting a strip search of Rosana "in the Jetway" as passengers were passing through.

Only for my band of brothers. Otherwise, I'd stay home!

Hey Everyone...

I'm almost out of here...The next few days I'll rarely be connected. After that, I'll be a little slower to respond than normal.

First stop: Yellowstone. I need to find a grizzly, a bison and a geyser.

Yay! Kurt's out of town! KURT'S OUT OF TOWN!!!

I was waiting for this opportunity for so long!

I just submitted WSO: MRR to BlogBomb! Bonus! Tons of email addresses of the Warriors & the Bombers that I collected for this purpose!

The email addresses including; Kurt, Allen Says, mmurtha, jeffhope, tasari, Castle, John the ezrydn, Tom the teleam, Ian the isnedd, Willie Crawford & Paul Myers to just name few!!!

You guys and gals don't bother my WSO, if you want to run WSO, choose other software like Phatty or God Father Bomb, OK!? Kurt has a lot of software, so there's enough for everyone! I must repeat...

DON'T BOTHER MY WSO!!!

Does anybody know how to delete a post here? It seems like I can't delete my post... I want to delete my post above before Kurt comes back from vacation.

But when the mice and Kurt are together, "Katie bar the doors!" LOL

We gotta start thinking about that again...sometime.

I'm back.

Entry into the US started with being cuffed to a chair while being interrogated for about 45 minutes. Since the person they're looking for isn't me, it didn't worry me. Just don't like having my time wasted that way. But it gave me a perfect chance to work on a new LEAP audience. LOL

We had around 70 vets in attendance, all at the company level. What a fantastic time it was.

The home trip was totally uneventful. I was leaving as the Chicago storm hit town. Now, we're getting some rain reaction from some storm down here. Gotta look at the weather and see what I came home to. Been busy all day yesterday playing catch-up. It's good to be home.

Mary, got your message. Glad to see you agree. LOL

Hi John,

Glad you had a nice trip - sorry about the hassles, I remember that happened when you came to LV too...

Also, I guess Kurt will be back in a day or two, so welcome back Kurt - hope you had a good vacation too!

Hey Jeff and All...

Still in San Diego. Leave for Vegas tonight for 4 nights before heading home.

Have had trouble connecting to the Net on the road, but should be back home in about 5 days.

Yeah, Jeff,

Same Ol' Stuff. Total PITA! As I said, only for my "band of brothers," and the Bombers, will I run that gauntlet. No other reason for me to come back.

With more in attendance this year, saw many I haven't seen in 42 years. I can't convey how great it was. I faced the North Vietnamese Army and hordes of VC with those guys. Ya think ICE would scare me? Not a chance! But it was a bit of fun this time. I mentioned LEAP. It's at http://www.leap.cc . I'm the researcher for our Washington Lobbyist so I've got the story down pat. It was fun to be cuffed yet watch them squirm and wiggle. Talk about a captive audience. LMAO

Without looking, I've become the "A" word. Activist!

John

And when the Bombers gather for 3 days, Kurt needs a week to rest up after that. LOL Glad ya had some off time finally. It's been a long time coming and you surely deserved it. I hope you made the best of it, you possibly could.

Jeff---I know you've caught the news stories about 5 yr olds and the gun-certified Airline Captain that are "on the list." Well, it's odd that as soon as I moved down here, I was put on the list. I know the story about who they're looking for, it just ain't me and they can't figure that out, time and time again, when I return. However, it was interesting this time. As I sat there, one ICE officer asked what is that badge lapel pin? I told him it was given to me by an officer in the local PD here. Then, he asked what the second badge lapel pin was. I told him it was an organizational badge pin from LEAP. Then, the question I yearn to hear, "What is LEAP?" It really became fun from there on. They HAD to listen. LOL
