This is pure theory and I've never done this so I don't know if it actually works, but have thought about it for awhile.

Sailor = part sales page + part doorway page.

In essence, you create tons of sales pages/review pages based on similar strategies we use to spin content pages.

Basically, we'd take different elements of sales letters/review pages, such as headlines, "action phrases", hype words, etc, add a variety of keywords and spin them into tons "sailor pages" designed to sell a wide variety of affiliate products.

I bought MRR for "Review Page Generator" (see the download thread)...Try the program out and see how it could be the template for many other pages.

Also, there are "headline generators", copywriting swipe files and even a (free/cheap) program called http://cashcopygenerator.com/ that can be used together to "spin" tons of sales pages.

We spin content for doorway pages and spin content for articles...But why not spin "sales letters", so each can focus on different sets of keywords?

A very general linking pattern may look like this:

Squidoo => sailor => Hubpage => sailor2 => blogger => sailor3 => Squidoo2 => sailor4

Any thoughts/comments?

Hi Kurt,

That looks like an interesting idea. I've been toying with the idea of
spinning product reviews with ArtiFact linked to a database of products,
and keywords. Instead of me writing a review from scratch, I could
scrape the sales pages themselves, and then look at ClickBank, PDC and
CJ for similar products. Hmmmm... food for thought.

Daisy chaining the linking looks sound, because you can build an empire
as large as you want it. I can see an advantage where a group of people
can also deeplink to each others pages if they work in chorus.

Hi Kurt,

That sounds "sound" in theory for sure.

Matter of fact I'v been messing with something similar for products outside of CB, CJ, Amazon, etc ... like Cars, vacum cleaners and air purifiers, but haven't sat down to draw up a plan of action.

The problem with these bigger products from specific companies is that there isn't much material on the net to gather because most marketers stick with places like CB ect ...

Your way looks easier, and worth a shot to me.

Thanks so much for the post ...

Hi Mary,

Why not visit showrooms, electrical stores etc, and pick up leaflets
and brochures? You can use them as your base material.

Hi Glenn,

Because I'd have to do a lot of leg work, spend extra time I don't have. Lol I live out in the middle of nowhere. The nearest town is boardman, and it's 37 miles away.

It's a fine idea though, so thanks for sharing ...

ROTF John!

You always put a smile on my face kid. Thanks! It's nice to know there's someone else out there with the same problem.

You know John, Glenn does have a very good idea.

What I am thinking of doing is contacting my 2 nephews in Philly, and getting them to do the work there in the city... Then send me the info.

Got any kids that'll do that for you? That might work.

I don't know about you, but the more I read Kurt's post, the more I like it. It'd be interesting to see if I can run some more expensive products doing the same thing.

Take care ...

I don't see why this couldn't work. This would seemt to be much more direct than beating around the bush with more indirect content page intended to do the same thing. Throw enough traffic at a page and sales will follow.

Here's one potential concern: Multiple pages for the same product (or from the same affiliate company) will leave a huge fingerprint, as your affiliate ID is unique.

1. I could be too paranoid.

2. Use this strategy only with affiliate programs you can't be ID'd by Google and you only use for sailor pages. Don't use any affiliate programs that you've used on pages containing adsense.

3. Promo your own products using fake affiliate numbers.

Hi Kurt,

Hmm ..

Haven't thought about this one before but it is a good idea!

>>3. Promo your own products using fake affiliate numbers.<<

We could all pitch in and swap pages with each other couldn;'t we?

That's if we could get up enough interest.

Say I put up one a couple of sailpages for one specific product and pass it on to you, then pass it on to glenn, then etc ... each putting up a couple of pages.

Then I take you alls and do the same.

Or is it worth it in the long run?

Perhaps a test on a disposable site would be in order. Although I understand the footprint concern, I'm not sure that it follows that in this instance it would be of concern to the SEs.

Hi Mary and Evan,

Evan's pretty close to my own train of thought...Use third party hosting and a wide variety of different affiliate programs. Plus, I may just be too paranoid. It isn't that hard to do (a weekend) and see if it works.

Cloaking the affiliate link some how, some way, may also work.

Also, using a variety of "review" pages that push traffic to the sales pages is a possible option.

Toss in a little trading as Mary suggested and we probably have something that'll work.

Sounds like a plan to me Kurt!

Just remember folks, it does pay off well to write good solid reviews the give both pros and cons of a product or owner.

What will happen is you will gain a following of steady people because they believe you to be more honest. Particularly if you steered them in the right dierection.

Of course you need to be careful with this Search engines don't like this, if they detect it all will fall apart (the cloaking I mean)

Maybe this is one of the best options for review pages... so you don't have to worry about affiliate link, but it is of course another click away !
