Hi everyone,

I'm Barbara Ling and was quite active on these forums about 3 or so years ago. Kurt said Hi! to me over at WF 2 days ago, and I was delighted to be reminded of both him and this great community!

I've basically gotten out of portal building due to my time constraints (4 kids, 1 husband, 12 Twitter budgies, 2 mooses, etc.) but have learned alot about personal branding/networking/etc. too. Happy to share my knowledge here!

Best wishes,

Barbara

Same Thing happened here. Past year was like a ping pong ball back and forth, back and forth to hospitals and Doctors. Now that has settled down. I have been doing nothing but keyword research.

Good to be back.

I vaguely remember your id! Alas, nothing else.

In what niche do you specialize (general is fine of course)? While I can still do portal building, I've returned back to training over at http://www.virtual-coach.com .

Hi Barb,

We're into far more than portal building. We're into linking, building niche networks, automation, etc.

I have no special niche. Looking for things that are hot.

Excellent. I'm rather decent with anything Wordpress/SEO/Building Trust/etc., so anything along those lines are things in which I can shed good light.

Hey Barb...

This isn't meant to sound like a put down...Rather it's a challenge.

Tell me something about SEO you don't think I already know?

Oh I like this challenge. Let me think....

Okay, do you know this process? I'm currently following it for my next week launch of http://www.IncomeFitness.com - the end result gets people TO the site but VIA my secondary sites (where ideally I can capture their email addresses as well). The SEO will come into play I reckon 2-3 weeks from now - I want people to see

Income Fitness

when they search on

Barbara Ling

Right now only one interview with that keyword comes to the top 10. Give me time. The following steps are more fully described in said Income Fitness book.

1.) Have N blogs that are comment-luv enabled. I use
http://www.virtual-coach.com (business blog) and
http://www.barbaraling.com (personal blog)

2.) Over the period of a month, structure out a series of posts that end up driving traffic to your main site (in my case, the prelaunch signup).

3.) Make certain you have EITHER a compelling marketing headline OR an SEO'ed headline for your blog posts. I generally try for compelling now, as I'm focusing on word-of-mouth more than SEO.

4.) After each blog post is published, search out via google the blogs that use commentluv (so you'll get a deep link back complete with SEO keywords/marketing headline) and comment intelligently. When the blog author approves the comment, you get the one-way link back.

5.) Once you've commented, stumble the post as well. This will help drive traffic to the blog post in question (good for the blog owner) but more importantly, when people read the post, they'll see your deep link as well. That generates people-driven traffic.

Rinse and repeat.

The above gets your name and site URL linked rather well on the Internet. Check out me:

<A href=http://www.google.com/search?q=%22barbara+ling%2C+virtual+coach%22&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a>"barbara ling, virtual coach"</a>

Now, SEO comes into play if you use keywords in your tag name (mine is Virtual Coach). It also comes into play if you want to rank high for local SEO topics or start to build a SEO funnel to capture top ranked SEO words.

But that's the topic for another post.....

How did I do?

Barbara

Hey Barb,

I posted a download link to a free program the searches for CommentLuv blogs (and much more) on the links thread.
I think it's the last post on the thread:
http://www.dombom.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboard.cgi?az=show_thread&om=47&forum=DCForumID42

I would also add the CommentLuv comment to an RSS pheed and submit/ping it.

Wanna try again?

Hi Barb...

I covered that in my SocialBomb Report WSO, which I also gave away here...

In a unique twist, I posted the entire report as the "sales letter" here:

http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-special-offers-forum/72811-multiply-your-social-power-2000-fast-easy-only-5-a.html

The WSO comes with a special version of Directory Submitter so signing up for all the social accounts would be faster, easier and much more painless.

If people liked the report, they bought Directory Submitter to help...

And on a related topic, here's a post I made at the Warriors showing how to automate content using Twitter, RSS and Godfatherbomb:
http://www.warriorforum.com/main-internet-marketing-discussion-forum/46740-twitter-automation-user-generated-content-rss.html?highlight=automation+duelz.com

Your turn...

I just got back from seeing the surgeon regarding my ankle (great news, there actually IS hope, yay!) and I can see, it will take me a wee bit of time to come up with something to complement that! I currently use ping.fm to send my updates to Wordpress.com and other places, where of course they get indexed along with all my other social goodies.

Give me some time to thunk and I'll surprise you yet.....

Great report, btw!

Barb,

Glad to see you post here. Something I have
noticed about people that work with Kurt and
the bombs is that they go off and build big
success and a lot of other well know IM gurus
their followers seem to spend years and lots
of money and never become successful.

It's good to see your success and to know that
you are an 'old time bomber'.

I know I have learned a ton from Kurt and probably
have never said thanks to Kurt. Barb's post
reminded me of how much I have learned about SEO
from Kurt and how I have used that knowledge to
make a lot of money for my family.

Thanks Kurt!

Ditto on what you say about Kurt - a true gem! And it's nice to chat with folks who actually know the technical side of SEO/the Internet too.

Hi Mitzie...

Glad to see you again. I really like it when the old timers drop by. I wish it wasn't quite so long inbetween visits.

I also encourage the newer Bombers to paricipate more.

All in all, I do much better here when I feel folks are interested. If I make a post, or no one posts comments, I feel like there's no interest, so I don't follow through.

Maybe the strategies and other stuff here doesn't make you rich, but it has helped many, many people go on to bigger and better things.

Being a Bomber really isn't a step by step method, but I've had to try to make it that, as people seem to need a set plan. But Bombing really isn't a set plan.

And this is why it has worked for years and years. You are to take what you learn hear and apply it to other ideas, including your own. Bombing is a "strategy multiplier", making other concepts much better. But it isn't a step by step plan.

One thing that might be helpful would be to have
a topic of the day/week/etc.? That way, we can share
our ideas on specific methods/sites/etc.

For example, my focus right now is building my
brand/blogging/teaching newbies/etc. I leverage my

blog
tweets
ping.fm
forum posts
stumbles
etc.

so one always helps the promotion of the next thing. I
can chat for years on end about the above.

An idea,

Barbara

Hi Barb,

Nice to see another old timer come back into the forum.

Guess I was coming in, while you were stepping out.

Welcome back ...
