I have started receiving errors, but sometimes I don't check every day. After I stop and restart tuelz, it seems to work properly.
I only notice an error randomly, if I try to execute an action.

Kelvin,

I'll need to have Kirill check this out...In the meantime, try turning off the tag cloud option in Newz Tuel. It looks like the problem is related to cloud.

Could you tell me:

1. If you know a sequence of actions that would cause this error to occur? Without a reliable way to reproduce the error, it would be very difficult to fix it.

2. If the entire error message (including all the "File ..." lines) is always the same? If it isn't, could you post all variants of the message?

I didn't use Tuelz since a while (because personal problems)...
but I get this in my log (see attachment) AND my tuelz doesn't show up..

You (Kurt) told us the last time that it could take some minutes after upgrading... but it never shows up

Let me know

Taz,

Back up your tuelz.dat file then delete it, then start Tuelz and let me know if Tuelz runs OK. If not, I'll have Kirill take a look.

Hi Kirill

In my case, I disabled the cloud, as per Kurt, and have not had a problem since.

If you want, I can turn it back on and try to help with testing.

Hey Kelvin...

To be honest, I'm not sure it's worth the trouble to fix.

The tag cloud was a good idea that doesn't seem to be a good feature, as it takes a lot of PC power for produce.

I think at this point in time, I'm more likely to remove it as a feature than to trouble-shoot/fix as it isn't worth the hassle and I have so many higher priorities.

YESSSSSSS !!! Tuelz showed up !!
I can click on everything and showing up, EXCEPT :
* ZZ Tuel empty now, previous project gone
* Upgradez takes time : Finally showing up but some strange errors in log (zie attach)

I upgraded new Fatsearch version... I restarted Tuelz, I will let you know how it went, because still busy after 10 min. (I see that in log)

Taz,

The dat file will contain all your project info, so deleting it will erase anything you had in ZZ (and other tuelz), which is why you should back it up.

Next, try turning off the tag cloud in Newz Tuel. This may help some.

Also, one server went down just recently (within the hour of the time of my post), which may be the cause of the Upgradez error.

Sometimes tuelz.exe doesn't work for some users. This may be due to some strange bug associated with starting tuelz.exe using a shortcut.

Here's a possible fix:
In this case, one needs to specify the parameter "Start In" in the Properties window of the shortcut.

Right click on the SHORTCUT to tuelz.exe -> Properties -> Shortcut tab -> Start In. The parameter should be the directory where Tuelz.exe is located.

It is also possible tuelz.exe is conflicting with any firewall software...

We're looking into this and trying to find a solution.

I had a 'tuelz project' I wanted to start the other day and found that, everytime I tried to activate tuelz, it got a 'site not found' statement. So, I was wondering, when Kurt moved up north, did the tuelbox URL change?

Hi John...

I did't change anything. Try following the instructions in the post right above your's...#11.

Use Task Manager to exit tuelz to make sure it really exited, and try again.

If that didn't work, email or post the contents of the tuel.log file (not the .dat file mentinoed earlier).

If that doesn't work, email me for a new Newz Tuel. That may fix it.

The only thing left at that point would be:
1. Back up tuelz.dat to another folder.
2. Delete the tuelz.dat file in your Tuelz folder.

Hi Kurt,

I'm still waiting to hear from Krill about my Tuelz problem. It does not launch, or takes a very long time to open and when it finally does open up the browser I get this error

"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"

Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

I am connected to the net and obviously there is no error in the address. I also try launching tuelz from mozilla foxfire but that doesnt work either.

Thanks,

Gil

I was having a problem starting tuelz also.

So, I back tracked on installs and upgrades.

If I remember correctly, I used the lite version of pingz to start with.

Then recently got the full version of pingz.

And then the new Inz.

What I did was deleted the 3 lated modz I received, adding them back in one at a time.

It seems that pingz.mod.2.0 was a problem.
I am just guessing, but maybe, in my case, it upgraded the wrong version of pingz.

At any rate, it appears to be working properly, now.

Thanks for the report. It looks that some of the older vesion of Pingz has a bug that prevented upgrades from working properly. I've removed Pingz from Upgradez temporarily until this problem is resolved.

Kelvin, could you possibly send me your current (working) version of Pingz to support@gammacenter.com?

Strangest thing has happened. Right after I upgraded to get the new Scrubz update Tuelz will no longer load.

IE takes a good minute to open and it gives the following error page message:

Any ideas or things I can do to get Tuelz working as normal?

Ernie,

Open the Task Manager alt + ctrl + delete

Exit Tuelz.exe.

Remove Scrubz from Tuel folder, but don't delete it. I'm trying to isolate if it's the Scrubz update causing the problem...

Restart Tuelz.exe.

If Tuelz starts OK....Put Scrubz back in the folder, exit tuelz.exe and restart tuelz.exe.

Once you've restarted, if Tuelz doesn't run, post the output of tuelz.log here and I'll have Kirill take a look.

Kurt,

I get the same error, so it doesn't look to be Scrubz.

Could the Teulz exe become corrupted somehow?

Kurt,

I had the same problems.

I first followed the above instructions, to move scrubz first.

I restarted, without scrubs original. success

I added scrupz update. Restarted. failed

I renamed scrubz to scrubz.mod.2.0 failed

I defaulted back to the original scrubz.mod.2.0 success

My observations.

The file sizes are the same. What I noticed to be different, is that the files may not have been compiled the same.

When I look at the files in windows file explore, the original scrubz.mod.2.0 shows the file type = 0 File

however, file type for the update, shows a file type = mpeg

Hey Ernie...

Kirill tried to email you with another version of Scrubz attached, but thinks his email got blocked?

Did you get his email with scrubz attached? If not, let me know and I'll find another way to send it to you...

Thanks...

Kurt,

Never received it.

If he sent it to @comcast.net it should go through fine.

BTW, the email on file you have for all my Tuelz is likely eajohnson@mn.rr.com.

Comcast bought Road Runner so that one will be history in about 2-3 months so please update your records with the .net email.

If for some reason Kirill gets a bounce back from teh comcast.net address, send it to @gmail.com and we'll see if it comes through.

Thaks

Ernie

Hi Kurt/Krill

None of my tuelz are working again. Could it have anything to do with my switching from verizon dsl to comcast cable?

Please help.

It could be the cause of the problem, but I doubt it as I used comcast/cox for years.

Also, could you be more descriptive than "not working"?

To be honest, you're the only one that continually has these problems. What are you doing? Do you have different PCs/OS?

Well first none of the forumz feeds are working and then rotatez has never actually worked for me. Earlier this week tuelz wouldnt even open up. I do not use more than one pc for my tuelz and only use one os, Winxp pro. I was going to delete then reinstall the whole tuelz package again but decided to consult with you/Krill first. Sorry if I'm a pain in the butt.

Gil,

Forumz isn't mine, although I will be releasing an update for Forumz ASAP. Even so, "doesn't work" isn't enough info.

Also, I will refund you money for Rotatez. Send me your Paypal address.

If Tuelz is working sometimes and not at other times, it has to be something on your system...The only exception is when we issue an upgrade and something with Tuelz has changed.

Read my post right above your's...Email Kirill AND be sure to send a copy to me, so I can monitor what is going on. I haven't received an email from you to both Kirill and me.

Try this: download a fresh version of Tuelz at:
www.Tuelz.com/download.html

Exit your old Tuelz (but do NOT delete them).

Do the freshly downloaded Tuelz work? Be sure to also include the results in your email. Just tell us if they worked or not.

As for sending you an email that I sent to Kirill, I'd have to have Kirill's email address to do that. And that I don't have, or I would do exactly what you suggest. Maybe it's here, somewhere, within the forumz. I haven't searched for it, as I was expecting him to email me.

My bad.

Hi Larry,

First, try rebooting.

If that doesn't work, can you send the entire contents of the tuelz.dat file to Kirill at:
support
AT
gammacenter.com

tuelz.dat can be opened with a text editor. Just paste the contents into your email.

Try this:
Turn off your antivirus protection. Run Tuelz and then you can turn on your antivirus protection again.

I worked long hours to solve such problem. Just recently found out that simple solution.

I just found out that for every new tuel installation or upgrade, Tuelz should be shutdown first (CTR+ALT+DEL then kill the Tuelz process), load the new tool in the folder, then restart Tuelz again.

Antivirus was what bothering me for hours. Don't forget to disable protection upon starting Tuelz. After Tuelz ups and running, virus protection can again be activated.

Be sure to start with the latest "free tuelz" package, even if the number of bytes are the same ! Now my Tuelz works (without scrubz)

I'm having this small piece of insanity today, after Tuelz worked perfectly yesterday.

I did some upgradez yesterday but Tuelz loaded fine after those. Today when I try and run it from a bookmark it says it can't connect to 127.0.0.1:12345 and opening it by clicking on tuelz.exe gets it to run in the newly fashionable "invisible mode"

It's running, I can see it in Processes and the log file is updating but I can't get it to load in the browser and the icon isn't in the taskbar. It's even running updates of old projects, I just can't see it!

Umm .. any ideas please? I am already drinking more wine, so no need to suggest that

Kurt,

That was the first thing I tried - several times

I checked my hosts file and found Spybot had put a load of entries in there so I reverted to an earlier version (which was basically empty). Made no difference tho .. when I try and open tuelz in my browser I get:

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at 127.0.0.1:12345.

The only thing I've installed since I had Tuelz open yesterday was Keyword Genius - can't really see a connection there.

It's too late to think now .. but any other ideas would be appreciated

The only things I can suggest is to disable any firewall and/or try using IE...Technically, IE is the browser Tuelz was programmed for.

Start Tuelz and if you see it running in the taskmanager, open IE and paste the IP into the address bar:
127.0.0.1:12345

It turns out it's not just Tuelz .. I can't connect to localhost at all. I'm running a scan on my system at the moment, I wasn't happy with that huge hosts file so I suspect there may be some malware somewhere.

Thanks for the suggestions Kurt

Kurt,

I tried your suggestion but kept getting the "Page cannot display" error in IE.

I ran a scan and there's no malware detected on my system. Also checked my hosts file.

I finally got Tuelz to open a browser (FF) and got this error:
Tuelz
Software Error

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "C:\Xi\tuelz\core\webs.py", line 178, in do_GET
AttributeError: SessionServer instance has no attribute 'web_initial_handler'

The address in the browser is http://127.0.0.1:12345/
I tried changing the address to http://127.0.0.1:12345/tuelzbox/ but I got the same error.

No new log file has been started. The previous file has this entry (extract)

Exception in thread Thread-1:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "C:\Python23\Lib\threading.py", line 436, in __bootstrap
File "C:\Xi\tuelz\core\applications.py", line 48, in run

File "C:\Xi\tuelz\core\databases.py", line 51, in make_query
DatabaseError: table newz_files already exists

Both browsers are still refusing to load localhost but that may be a red herring as I have no web server running. Localhost pings correctly.

I've spent all day Googling for possible solutions but have drawn a blank so far. I just can't think of what could have changed in my system to create this apparently out of the blue.

I know it's probably outside the scope of this forum, but maybe someone has a suggestion on where next to look?

I'm desperate, I'll try anything!

What I'm getting now is ...

If I pin Tuelz to the start menu and start it from there, I get the browser open with the "Tuelz software error" I posted before, I can see the tuelz icon in the system tray, but the log file doesn't update.

If I click tuelz.exe from Explorer, the browser doesn't open at all and there is no icon in the system tray but tuelz runs as a process and the log file updates.

If I could just put the two together I might get somewhere! lol

Is there a newer version of Tuelz that I should be using? This one is dated 4/21/2006. I don't want to overwrite my full version with the wrong one.

I'm just so pleased to have Tuelz running again, I have a HUGE smile on my face!

Be sure to backup the copy that works and put it in a safe place.

I try to run Tuelz and Firefox loads and presents this error (see below). This is my first download of this app, so I don't have an old beta version lying around to switch to.

I'm running under Win XP Pro -- in a virtual machine under Parallels on my Mac. I have MS LIve OneCare anti-virus. I'm also already running an apache webserver on localhost, with virtual domain support -- this is my dev box.

I'll appreciate that you may not be able to support my configuration. If so, lets just pretend that I was running on a plain vanilla XP Pro install on a basic Intel box. What would you suggest I do next?

HI Pauli,

This is a common error and to be honest, we haven't been able to find the cause...

Here's the best advice I can give:

1. Do not use a "shortcut" to start tuelz.exe .

2. Reboot your system. Sometimes a reboot will "fix" it.

Sorry about the hassle...

LSI needs updating, but it shouldn't return an error.

Do the other Tuelz seems to work? If the others work, you should be good to go.

I tried lsi first -- so I went back and tried another one - and it seems OK.

Now that I'm "good to go" I need to figure out where I'm going.

Try a reboot.

If that doesn't work, try IE. Tuelz are really made to run only with IE.

Hi

Initially had the same problem with FireFox. I then tried with IE - and also couldn't get it running - as I now had 2 instances running.

Killed them both, then got it running in IE. Shut Tuelz down, and then tried FF again, and it worked.

Just a tad twitchy with FF(3) until you beat it into submission ...

Hey Kelvin,

First the bad news: I'm not sure what the problem is.

The good news: I haven't used Upgradez for a long time. Anything new would have been released through the Bombsquad, so you don't need upgradez.

Hi Colin,

It's not a site. Tuelz run on your PC, just to clarify.

Make sure you exit Tuelz. Use the Task Manager to make sure.

Delete the tuelz.dat file in the Tuelz folder.

Don't move the Tuelz folder, this can mess up project folder paths and cause an error.

Start tuelz.exe. (But don't use a shortcut. A very few people couldn't access Tuelz using shortcuts.)

If this doesn't work, email me (paypal email) and I'll get back to you a little quicker.

#86, can any tuelz do this

I looked at all the tuelz and did not find one that could take a text file and remove duplicate lines.

But the tuelz are so comprehensive maybe there is a way to do it using more than one tool

Linez can remove dupe lines...Use the sort function, then check the Remove dupes when sorting box.
