Hi Kurt,

hope your move went well.

I've been very busy recently so not been around for a while. Things are going great so thanks for all the seo advice.

I have an old site that after putting up about 10 pages of content, forgot about it and did nothing else about a year ago. SO, I purchased your matching templates and am going to give it a face lift and start promoting it.

It actually ranks OK, for having NO links to it

I'm now trying to decide the structure to get the most benefit from the html pages and WP + RSS.

Have got lots of new content to add to it.

Its a little ol review site, so lots of content on the pages (WP)targetting lots of long tail and then the product reviews (HTML)

I think using WP as the home page will be OK if I can edit it to how I want it.

If you can shed any tips on the most effective use of mixing HTML and WP that would be great.

Many thanks
Jason

Hi Jason,

Glad you're having some good results.

As far as mixing html and WP, I'm really not much of a blogger as many of the Tuelz allow us to do the same things as blogs.

The one tip I'd suggest is to use a blog or two to automate posting to the social sites, so when you post to your WP, it also is posted on all the social sites automatically.

Also use a remotely hosted WP blog to link to all your tin links. Basically, if you create a profile, use BookmarkingDemon/scuttle links, etc, you may want to link to the urls that list you links.

A good way to do this is to use a blog (or fake it with html), post an article on the "blog" with a ton of fake comments, each pointing to your profiles and links pages.

You dont' need to accept comments, just make it look like you do/did, and now it's broken. This will eliminate other folks' spam. Basically, you want to spam your own blog with comments that link to other third party pages that contain your links.

Basically:
blog comments => scuttle, bookmarking links, forum profiles, social medai profiles => silver and gold sites

Submit and ping the blog so it's indexed.

If you create a link to any of your pages, you should try to get a couple of links to THAT page also. A blog with fake comments with links to different URLs (all your's) can be very effective.

Thanks for the tips Kurt!

I assume you mean add the rss to the social sites so it picks up the post.

And I like the idea of using a blogs comments to get your profiles indexed in BMD etc.

Your the man!

Thanks
Jason

Hi Jason,

Actually, I meant to add the RSS pheed each social site creates to a larger, main RSS pheed that contains all relevant pheeds of your own. This will add your profiles and other stuff to your auto linking system.

But as you sugggest, take the URL to this "main" pheed and add it every where you can, including any social sites that let you add RSS.
