Press releases should be part of your linking and "reach" building plan.

I've semi automated creating accounts and logging into about 18 of the premium free online press release sevices.

Many of these services also submit your PR to various other places, so using this list is like submitting to submitters.

First, you need to sign up for the various services.

To speed things up, import the following XML file into Directory Submitter:
www.dombom.com/iframes/pr-signup.zip

Then filter=> !Press Release Create Account

Then give each a custom color. Right click on each and select "gray" as custom color.

Create a basic profile for your all your release(s).

Go through each and create an account. PR services need more info than usual, so you will need to spend a little more time filling in the forms.

BE HONEST. The point of a PR is to be contacted by the media for free publicity. If you don't want to be contacted, press releases probably aren't your best option.

Once you've signed up for the PR accounts, open up FireFox.

Open each of the following URLs in a seperate tab in the same window:
http://www.prlog.org/pub/login.html
http://www.indiaprwire.com/login/?goto=/pressroom/
http://www.openpr.com/news/submit.html
http://www.newswiretoday.com/login.php?login=editor
http://www.merinews.com/login.jsp
http://www.fastpitchnetworking.com/login.cfm
http://www.usprwire.com/cgi-bin/news/user.cgi?
http://www.clickpress.com/cgi-bin/releases/user.cgi?
http://www.pressreleasespider.com/AddFeed.aspx

Now, go to=> Bookmark => Bookmark All Tabs

Name the folder: PRESS RELEASE 1

Repeat the steps above for the following URLs, naming this folder PRESS RELEASE 2.

http://www.pressreleasepoint.com/user
http://www.pr-inside.com/release_new.htm
http://www.free-press-release-center.info/
http://www.24-7pressrelease.com/login.php
http://www.seenation.com/index.php
https://www.pr.com/signin.php
http://www.geek.com/
http://www.ezpress.info/user
http://www.afly.com/logon.php

Make sure you have a decednt password manager installed in FireFox. Try:
http://www.sxipper.com/welcome

Now, anytime you want to submit a press release for free, just go to your bookmarks and open one of your PRESS RELEASE folders, using the "Open all tabs" feature.

This will open the log in pages for all your favorite PR services and fill in your log in info for you.

Now, use your multi clipboard and copy all the basic info and fill in the info using the multi clip to really speed things a long.

This is really the best of both worlds, you speed up all the repetitive tasks, but still have total control. You also will have a much higher sucess rate than if totally automated.

And, this is easier to do than it sounds, and can be applied to many different time-saving strategies. Create bookmark tabs for all your silver sites, all your google accounts, stats pages for various sites...It's endless.

Then, just open all the tabs from your various bookmarks, use a password manager, and you can quickly go from one page to the other.

Hi Karsten and All,

Here's what I did...I took a list similar to your's and went through the top 30 PR services. I found 18 that actually "worked" and those I added to the Directory Submitter custom directories.

Since I'm a firm believer in the 80/20 rule, I think the PR directories included will get 90% of the results.

Having said this, everyone can and probably should, add a few more PR services to their own list.

Anyone can create their own custom lists for Directory Submitter (see the help videos), I'm just doing the gruntwork. Since once you sign up for a PR service account you can submit multiple PRs, you don't need sign up more than once, so I wouldn't add any PR releases to Directory Submitter.

Instead, just create any new PR accounts directly. Then open them each in a tab in FireFox and follow my directions above.
