#0, More than 1 Adsense Account
Posted by Graeme007 on Aug-28-06 at 03:10 PM
Just a word of warning here.
If you are making good money using Adsense than get more than 1 account and spread your domains across more than the one account.
I recently had an adsense account deleted for apparently fraudulent clicks.
This was in no way related to me but the sites were designed in such a way that I was getting an extremely high CTR.
Anyway - that was lost income and a lesson in always being prepared.
I am in the process of getting my 4th Adsense account at the moment - the others are all OK but you can never be too sure and all accounts will now use Robert Planks script which is for free at adsenseshield.com
Also - I have heard of people getting their second accounts banned when trying to use the same domains on another adsense account.
I have changed the banned sites to affiliate income.
Hope this might save some people from having a big drop in income.

A little note to this...
If you have more than 1 adsense account, be VERY careful. Because Google don't like this, you need different address !

I quote Google :
"Can I sign up for more than one account?

Publishers are not permitted to maintain multiple AdSense accounts. We offer flexible reporting with our channels feature that allows you to track the performance and earnings of various groups of pages or domains."

I've heard that Adsense doesn't like spouses to have separate accounts. I don't know why. I don't even know if its true.

My husband and I had never heard of this when we each joined up (and didn't see it in the TOS)

But since we have different surnames and different addresses (he always uses his Post Office address for everything) I've no way of knowing whether it would be a problem if we were obviously 'domestic partners'.

I understand the approved way to have multiple Adsense accounts is to register multiple companies. That would be expensive in Australia, because of company reporting requirements.

I've also heard that owning multiple registered business names is sufficient to open multiple Adsense accounts - I haven't tried this though, & don't know if this is really sufficient - after all, unlike with a company, you'd still be the legal entity

Anyone tried any of these routes?

Yes, you will need different names, company or otherwise, different bank accounts and addresses and be very careful when logging into adsense to check income.

A business colleague recently had his second account banned because they realised it was the same bank account and that was after many weeks.

Some of you may or may not have read the two publications "Death of Adsense" and/or "Life After Adsense." Both make a strong point.

However, there is an interesting "tangent" within them that I'm now looking into. The "tangent" I speak of is two "other" sources:

1. http://www.thedeathofadsense.com/approve

2. http://www.thedeathofadsense.com/az

#1 is for "Modern Click" and #2 is for "Azoogle Ads."

I'll check back later and let you know what I came up with, if anything at all.

I applied for those 2 quite a while ago but haven't actually started using them yet although I will be doing so shortly as I think it's far too dangerous to rely on one income source especially when you're fulltime internet income.

Hey,

I tried out AdsenseShield. Very nice script. I noticed it wasn't working properly with Firefox and told Plank. He updated the script to version 1.1, just in case you're using the 1.0 version. There's still some glitches, like not working on files in subfolders, but it's better than nothing.

Graeme,

He updated the script while installing it for me in early September. I don't think he sent out a notification about the update but I've attached it to this post.

Rich

Hey All,

I've been using Adsense Shield with another tracker and noticed that I'm still getting an occasional user with several clicks. I'm not sure if they're malicious or just click happy but I'm testing AdLogger to see if I can stop this. AdLogger checks users IP's to see if they've clicked on too many ads, which is something that Adsense Shield doesn't do. It's a free program and it's open source. You can get it here:

It's more involved than Adsense Shield. You need to create a mySQL database. The setup is pretty easy. You can define how many clicks per hour you want to limit users to. (This isn't an option in Adsense Shield.) You can also set a limit that when hit will have the script send you an alert email.

Each ad block is surrounded by a PHP wrapper. You plug the adsense code into the interface and it generates the code with the PHP wrapper.

I haven't tried the alternate ad option yet but it looks like you can have different ad formats display for each ad block, so the sizes can match. I think it would work well with Kurt's Cherrybomb.

I'm testing it for a couple days to see how things go.

Cheers,

Rich

Hey,

I just finished testing Adlogger. I like Adlogger's features but I couldn't get it to work right on my test site. It only recorded a handful of clicks. I think it may have conflicted with some of the javascript I use to serve CPM ads. There's a lot of potential with the script, so I'll take another look in 6 months but for now I'll stick with Adsense Shield.

Cheers,

Rich

Thanks for the file and the comments Rich.

Do you use Adsense Shield on any pages with html?
