"Ideas for getting links to your site spidered"

I came across a couple sites that have some interesting ideas to help you get the links coming to your site spidered more. Honestly,
I don't know enough about this stuff to know if it is white hat, black hat or whatever. I've got a lot to learn in this area.

When visitor visits, it pings the list ping server:
"what if everytime a visitor came to your website from a link, you sent a ping out for that webpage, to ensure that it gets in the search engines, affectively increases your pagerank? If you would like to increase your link saturation and thus your pagerank,"

More ideas here:

Please post if you knwo a downside to these, so no one wastes their time.

This seems to be something black hat to me.

I had tried to ping my site 2 times within 5 minutes and I got a message saying that you cant ping that often.

Pinging the site every time a visitor comes seems to be the same thing and could get our sites banned and we wont be allowed to ping again.

I am not sure about this. But this is just what I think.

bye,
faraz

   Faraz,

It used the visitors IP address. So that is one worry out of the way.
It pings the address they came from, as I understand it. So it pings other sites that are linked to you.

Hi Jeannie and Faraz,

This is a common blackhat technique...As Jeannie points out, it uses the pages' visitor's IP address so it looks like THEY are submitting/pinging the URL.

For those so inclined, this would work well with the RSS blackhole. If you follow the posts I've made on this forum, you'd consider this a "high risk" strategy and use it to get your tin sites indexed/linked...Then point links from these tin sites to your money sites.

Jeannie...Nice find on the code generator.

Hi Jeannie and Everyone...

This is the same concept as the other, except it is for your REFERERS.

We talked about this is another thread, that you want to make sure all the pages that link to you are indexed in the engines. If you have an older, established site chances are there's a number of pages that link to you that aren't in the engines and you're not getting any link juice from this.

The link above is a guide to getting those pages indexed.

Basically, you look at your logs, get a list of all URLs that sent you traffic, remove the doops, then ping the rest, using the various IPs of your page's visitors.

The first resource will ping YOUR pages, while the BlueHat strategy pings your REFERALS URLs. Both use the IPs of your site's visitors, this is so you can ping more often, as the ping services limit the number of pings from any given IP.

Probably, you could also use the RSS Blackhole strategy, using your referers' URLs instead of your own. Then use my Pingz Tuel and/or the first bit of code to get all your referal URLs pinged and indexed.

-Boom boom boom boom.
