"Success = Boredom"

Success = Boredom

This may be the most important message you'll get for this forum, and this advice isn't limited to what you read here.

The truth is, you won't be successful with these strategies until you become bored with them. We all seek new info and new things to try and explore. However, this only leads to distraction from what will make you money...And that is: REPITITION.

For example, you've install Fatty, explored all the features and functions and learned how to make pages. Now you move on to something else that's fresh and new.

WRONG! Now you install Fatty again and again. You make pages over and over and over until you're tired and bored, with it, then you make more and more pages.

This is the real key to success with almost every method of making money online. You know it and I know it...You won't become successful using Fatty (or other stuff) until you know it so well, and used it so much that you're totally bored using it.

Those that overcome the boredom are well on their way, while those that get bored and move on to the next big thing will wonder why they are still at the starting gate.

Believe me on this, I know from experience.

I have to say "ditto" on that repetition is the key to making money.

If you get totally bored then you can either automate or outsource.

Excuses from your outsourcers will break up the boredom as much as automation failure and bugs.

Good advice that sometimes we forget the obvious - just keep repeating what you are doing to make more money.

   Hello Kurt,

You are so right, repetition , repetition...

The problem with me is: my strategy works maybe 30% of the time(some times short lived), but not the other 70%, that keeps me searching for new methods and tricks in hope of getting the best, guaranteed answers.

Also I have 1 question about domains, do you recommend register different domains for different keywords? or expand to sub-domains? and what to do with the domains that no longer generate revenue? do you keep them in case the SEs change their mind or drop them completely?

I have only 50 domains, and I found I am getting bills almost every other days for renewal. Can't image how to manage 100/1000 of new domain names.

Thanks!

Hi Roze,

Your domain question doesn't really follow the theme of this thread...

Quickly, one of the benefits of third party/free hosting like Blogger, Squiddo, et all is that not only is the hosting free, but you don't need domain names.

I recommend mixing all available assets, including as many domains/hosting as you can afford, sub domains, sub directories and free third party hosting.

Now back on topic...Drop the domains that aren't doing anything and you can't afford and for each you drop, create 5 third party accounts. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

The domains you do keep should become your gold sites.

   Hi Kurt,

This is my first post here - GREAT forum by the way.

This thread really hit home with me because I have just reached total boredom point with a system that I have worked on for about six months. I telephoned my best mate and 'volunteer business trauma psychologist' today and explained how I was going to spend less time on the recent project and a bit more on revisiting old ones. Then I found all the BS reasons why it was financially wise.

A few hours later after a fair bit of soul searching while drinking a cold beer and watching waves breaking, I felt like ringing him again and explaining that I had got it wrong. But of course I didn't because no-one enjoys admitting to doing a 180 in the space of three hours.

And then I found this thread.

Whilst soul-searching earlier I realised that I really enjoy the process of finding a (potentially) profitable system, tweaking it, finding more streamlined ways of working it etc...

And NOW, I realise why it is that once the system is tweaked, tuned, and ready to be unleashed simply by following your advice above and repeating the process over and over - I want to move on to something else.

Because once I've MASTERED and CONQUERED the problem - it holds no interest for me. But the reason I did the whole project in the first place is in order to enjoy the proceeds of seeing the finished article kicking ass. Self-sabotage...

It's the same problem I have seen many others have in their relationships. When they are in awe of someone they are very keen (they act keen to please while masking (and not realising) their keenness is merely to conquer) but as soon as they have mastered and conquered that person, they have zero interest - even if it would be the wisest decision in the world to continue their keenness at that point.

Getting back to business - it will be a lot easier in future to deal with the boredom knowing that it's part and parcel of the journey to success.

I'm glad it's not just me who gets BORED with the things we have to do to be successful. Your post really helped. Thanks.

Hey Roger and All...

This thread is really about my biggest weakness as a marketer, and I'm sure it's also a barrier for many others.

I'll buy and download a piece of cool software that's $100, spend a few hours figuring out what it can do...Then never use the software because I've just bought and downloaded some new stuff.

The thing is, while repetition is boring, it is also very effective, as you become faster and faster.

The first time to install Fatty may have taken someone an hour to do...However, with repetition, I can install Fatty in about 2 minutes.

This will become even more important with BlogBomb, as you may want to install in numerous times. Once you understand what to do and have it "memorized", you'll be able to install it in 3-5 minutes. The first time could take you 20-30 minutes.

In the "What is SEO/SEM?" thread:
http://www.dombom.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboard.cgi?az=show_thread&om=48&forum=DCForumID42

I discuss pounding away at your "best" keywords. Again, this is repetition, and it is vital to sucess.

Our goal with SEO/SEM it to go "deep" and "wide". We want to own 10 out of the 10 top postitions for our keywords...And, we want to rank for as many traffic-getting keywords as possible.

And this requires repetition...

The good news is, your competition also dislikes boredom. If you can tolerate a little more boredom than they, you've got a create advantage.

In all honesty, once you're bored with this month's lesson, you're on your way...

>In all honesty, once you're bored with this month's lesson,
>you're on your way...

lol! Also, that is a *pearl* of wisdom! I've recently started again
dabbling in webmarketing and on other forums I've read a ton of
advice for newbies and this is probably the best one so far!

I made this mistake before (trying new stuff all the time without
sticking to one long enough to really see if it worked) and I shouldn't
repeat it... and yet... "new" is so easy to fall for! I guess that's
why marketers all over the world slap it on their products every other
day... Check it out next time you're in a supermarket - everything is
"New! Improved!" etc... that is how powerful the "new" effect is on
our minds! Keeping your head in its place and sticking to one thing
until you know it better than most others can certainly become
a profitable asset!

Odd coincidence that you bumped this thread so recently and I've
come back here just now! lol...must be the universe trying to tell
me something... if only I could keep my attention for lon... uuuhh
butterfly! come here butterfly!

Thanks for the advice Kurt!

Cheers,
Saul

Hey Saul,

I actually bumped it as much for me as for folks here...

This is one of my biggest problems is resisting the urge to discover new things instead of concentrating on the things I already know work and repeating them over and over and over.

This is such a simple but very important thread. This I would say makes the difference between earning pennies and earning thousands. I can honestly say that all my successes have occured by simply learning a system that is tried and tested and just repeating it again and again.

All my diversions into shiney and exciting have produced almost zero in real returns.

Hi Kurt and all,

I don't mind boredom at all, and would love to follow a working system and repeat hundreds or thousands of times.

The problem is, I haven't found such a system yet.

Since this forum has some many posts from previous years, I don't know if it is worthwhile to go through the posts and piece things together.

Is there a particular post that has step by step instruction and is still working its magic in today's world? or somebody would love to create one?

Thanks!!!

Hi David,

What works is actually fairly simple, and it hasn't changed much. The only things that have changed are the resoures.

1. Keyword research

2. Create content based on that research.

3. Promote that content

I know this is over-simplfied, but how you do each really is up to you and your individual talents.

If you're a good writer, all you really need to do is write great stuff and look for big sites that accept "guest writers" or "guest bloggers", or someone with a big list, using that to drive traffic to affiliate pages.

If you don't like writing, then we have other methods.

But really and truly, you will likely need to find your own path. There's a lot of IM plans around. This forum really isn't intended to give you a plan, but rather help enhance your chances of succeeding with a plan.

If I were to recommend one single ebook, it would probably be "Fatcat Blueprint"., which would work well with what we have here.

If you need a plan, get Fatcat Blueprint and follow it to a tee. Use the stuff here to make Fatcat Blueprint better and more effective, but it will give you solid info and direction that I should follow more myself.

Let me add...Just checked out the Fatcat Blueprint homepage...He's got a little decpetive "sign up" form. After you fill it out, you only go to a sales page, not a download page.

However, the info is very good. It's $77, but it has a CB affilaite program that pays 75%. Maybe you can find someone to buy it from using their hoplink and they can buy something using your hoplink?
