"Focus ???"

The topic on goals and procrastination reminded me of something thats been on my mind lately: focus.

The problem is that with the day job, family commitments, sleep, blah blah blah, there's not a heap of time left for the internet.

And then there's (at least) a dozen different basic strategies, hundreds of variations, dozens of forums, hundreds of blogs & newsletters, and there's more!!! Hundreds of ebooks, audio files, videos, - it just goes on and on.

Yes, I know I need to settle on a plan, and I've pretty well done that.

But I also need to keep up with the changes, and keep learning.

How do you balance that?

Sure, you need to concentrate on learning at first, but further down the track, when you're not really a newbie any more, what sort of balance do you think there should be between working on your money-making plan, and learning and exploring changes and new ideas?

cheers,

To me, this is relevant to the topic. There was a day when 3 doctors stood in front of me and said "You'll never be able to walk again." I not only couldn't believe it. I wouldn't believe it.

Therefore, I focused. And focus did I. These doctors said this in January of '06. Yesterday, I WALKED 15 kilometers from a store to my house. Pardon me when I say I'm proud as hell and it all boiled down to focusing on the problem at hand and doing all one could conceive of to overcome it.

Like when someone says you "can't" do something. WANNA BET?

That's my frame of mind,

John

   Hi John,

Yes, I agree that focus is *critical* (and it sounds like you can now walk a lot further than I can)

I guess my problem is finding the right balance - maybe I should have called the topic 'balance' instead. But usually when people talk about 'balance' they're talking about balancing (say) their internet activities, with the rest of their life, while my main concern is the balance between learning time and money-making time.
