Rome usually enjoys a mild spring and autumn. (This would be the best time to visit were it not that the city is then crammed with tourists.) It is so hot in July and August, that many businesses close for that period. There is not much rainfall in Rome, when it does it is usually in autumn. The winter can be cold, especially from December to February, with an average temperature of 8º Celsius.
