"The REAL Guru Secret"

Here's the REAL secret of all the IM gurus, the one they don't tell anyone about, but it's the one single strategy they all use.

Of course, the first step is in marketing is to get your offer in front of as many "interested" folks as possible, and this is usually done by JVs and list sharing, etc.

Most of us know this already, but here's the secret they all use:

Third person recommendations.

Basically, they trade complimenting each other.

Here's two examples and just by reading them and seeing the simple difference, you'll see just how potent this concept is.

1. I am a genuis. My software is the best on the Net.

Now, let's change just a two words:

2. Bob is a genuis. Bob's software is the best on the Net.

Just changing two words gives the second one much more "selling power", as it is a "third person" recommendation.

Of course, it helps if it is said by someone with a decent reputation, at least on their own lists.

You've seen this in action a few weeks ago. Most recently John Reese and Brad Callen were involved in the launch of Stompernet, and despite claims to the contrary about "secrect techiniques" the STRONGEST selling point was how they positioned each other.

In Reese's email, he was telling us what a genius Callen was...Then you open an email from Callen and he's calling Reese a "genius".

Sure, there were other strategies to optimize their campaign, but the pure essence of their strategy was to tell the World how great the OTHER person was.

The big marketers understand this concept and poor on the accolades to help each other.

This post is not a moral statement saying either was dishonest or not worthy.

Instead, it is intended to show you want you REALLY need to be a big time marketer.

If you are a small fry or a noob just starting out, the two concepts of reaching your target market and exchanging third person compliments and recommendations is the absolute key to sucess.

I can tell you from first hand experience that when other people sstart recommending my stuff, my sales are much, much, much higher than when I am the only one telling the World how great they are...

Often, this is done by an affiliate getting paid to make sales. But if your alliance understands this concept, you can make recommendations for each other without being affiliates and say something like "I don't get paid for this and am not an affiliate, but Joe Blow is the greatest ______ ."

Adding "not getting paid" creates even more impact, just make sure it is true.

I suggest if you are a noobie or small fry marketer that you create alliances with others for your mutual gain.

It will take time. It took the big gurus time, as well. You need to find others that are:
-Dependable
-Honest
-Offer stuff of value that compliments your offers
-Understand the concept of "you sell for them, they sell for you".

By creating these co-ops, you'll greatly increase you chances of sucess.

Next time you see a big launch for the big gurus, or even patrol various marketing forums, take a look and see if you don't see the strategy of third person compliments in action.

-Boom boom boom boom.

1. "RE: The REAL Guru Secret"

This is so true and they are all feathering each other's nests.

It is more important who you know than what you know.

There's people selling stuff for a song on the WSO just because they don't have a 'name' and there's others who get the full support of the 'promo machine' to sell ordinary stuff for big dollars.

It's the same in every business around the world.

Imagine what you could get for all your products and advice Kurt - but all anyone is looking for it what's in it for them.

Graeme
