Another idea could be a nice software gadget because I would like to use the idea submitting the gadget to the software directories and see what kind of results I can expect here.

Look for/create a flash game...Maybe "Frogger" meets "leprechauns"?

Get some toolbar software and create a toolbar just for Irish folks and submit it to the software directories. Better yet, make a couple of them, such as "Irish sports fans", "Irish college students", etc.

But here's something real easy that can be done in just about any niche: Top 10 lists.

Make posts about:
10 Ugliest Irish
10 Most Attractive Irish
10 Smartest Irish
10 Dumbest Irish
10 Best (worst) placed to get drunk in Ireland

Keep going, you should be able to think of tons more.

Make a post on a Top 10 topic.

Then submit to Digg and the social sites.

Repeat

Post to a blog, encourage comments and have folks post their lists. These are the type of posts that can get comments.

It's also an easy format to "trade" diggs and social bookmarks for...

Even better, these lists can be spun and the same idea used over. It would be pretty easy to make 5 blog posts title "10 prettiest Irish women". Then, post a different Top 10 to a few of your own blogs and "trackback" your own blogs.
